Launching into summer with fresh new finds

This time of year, we look forward to so many new things arriving every day. Some of it is from market orders from six months ago (really? that long?), some just a constant flow of our favorite things (like our wonderful Soji solar lanterns; just received 12 more boxes today). Here's a little random preview of new goodies, from bedding to binkies...

Melamine picnic plates with little bees scurrying across.
The hit of the party (and, they go in the dishwasher)!

New dragonfly etched tumblers.

The perfect whiskey glass. Makes every day Father's Day.

Luscious Volcano candle in a sweet mercury glass container.

New shipment of handbags to love!

New bedding; great summer weight and very well priced.

Love this Leaf pattern in green and white. So fresh.

Navy and cream cotton/flax quilt and sham set.

Decorative pillows go with.

Fishies in red.

Super soft throws go with the new collection.

The funniest baby binkies (love the new "volume knob" version).

Our little business turns 15 (on the 15th)!

We're really kind of stunned to realize that we've been in business (and at the same location) for 15 years. Not sure how that all happened so fast, but here we are. The moms who came in pregnant in our early days are now shopping with – gulp – teenagers! The little kids who entertained themselves on the lawn with our Mollie dog (while mom shopped) are now graduating from college (or beyond). It's been a fun roller coaster (whoeee, especially the last five years), and we are eternally grateful for our dear clientele, who have kept us going all this time. You know, when you support small, local businesses, this is what happens: we survive. We don't go away. We stay in the community and spend our income here, we donate to local causes, we pay taxes, and even hire a person or two when things are good.  Yay! We are so thankful for you.

We're so excited about this Saturday's 15th anniversary celebration (June 15, from 11-5 at our shop). There will be libations. There will be nibbles to eat. There will be live music (in the a.m.). The weather will be wonderful (even if today was cruddy). And, we've got a great big sale planned, door prizes, specials and treats. Start with the entire store being 15% off. You get an additional 15% off sale items, too. We never, ever do this, so you don't want to miss it!

The shop is full of new arrivals and great Father's Day gifts (yes, that too!). Here is just a random selection of things that might interest you (and there's so much more, as always).

We just got in another shipment of our lovely solar Soji lanterns (we are so obsessed with them: just the prettiest things in the garden after dark)... new colors and shapes (love the diaphanous, silky ones).

Looks like silk, but is sturdy and so glowy
Leaf pattern Soji is such a pretty color.

Stella Sojis are designed with pin prick designs to emit patterned light

One of the new silky Sojis in white

There are many more lovely garden items to look at, plus lots of outdoor (and indoor) entertaining options.

Foldable spheres add architectural interest to the landscape

Reclaimed teak mushroom and vintage cement squirrel

Teak or cedar raw edge bowls are gorgeous inside or out.

Modern and simple; perfect for three orchid stems

Tula hats are back; the perfect garden/kayaking hat

There are perfect gifts for dad (just in time, and all on sale!):

Petanque, bike, journal: for the manly man

Catch the home-brew fever

The one-handed bottle opener for busy guys

Dad is going to be a hero!

 New tea towels and linens...

Gorgeous organic cottons for the table (the big one makes an amazing throw/wrap)

Sweet new French towels for dishes and hands

Soft flour sack tea towels made in Seattle

We just restocked some of our mainstay items (soaps, caldrea, candles), so it's nice and full.

Cleans beautifully, naturally... and makes the house smell so good

There are new vintage items culled from our recent buying trips:

Transferware and hotel china

And some big discounts on some of our really special offerings (like 30% off our fabulous olive oils and balsamic vinegars, artisan jams... plus the additional 15% storewide!).

Just. So. Good.

Stock up. Delicious hostess gift.

Tour of the French Flea Market

Ahhh, we had such a fun and busy French Flea Market on Saturday (June 8). Not that we went to France. Nope. Right here in Bend... it's our wonderful little market we host five times every summer in our gardens: June 8 was our first of the summer {additional dates: July 6, August 3, August 24, Sept. 14, 2013} and it was grand. So many great vendors (more than ever before), lovely weather (if a bit hot, but better than 40ยบ right?), and a really full market.

Took a bunch of pictures early in the day (before we officially opened, and before the crowds snapped up everything). If you missed it, I'm sorry. You'll just have to insist on coming next time... Here's just a little taste of the offerings.

Awesome, no? We had to buy the teeth (from an old denture supply house,
maybe for demonstrating brushing?) – going to make a wonderfully
creepy serving piece at halloween!
