Just a few of our new arrivals for summer

It's always so much fun, gearing up for the summer season. New things arrive every day (not to mention all the vintage pieces we've been bringing in from recent buying trips). We are ready for all your Memorial Day weekend festivities, and will be open regular hours (Monday through Saturday from 10:30-5/closed on Sunday only).

Yesterday a truck arrived with a giant load of great new artwork. Did I take good pictures? No. Just couldn't get the angle right, somehow. Grrrr. You'll have to take our word for it; our new framed prints are awesome... and very reasonably priced. Meanwhile, to make a little room, we put some of our existing prints on sale at half off – go see them in the cottage.

We have new Soji solar lanterns, linens, books, all kinds of wonderful wedding, graduation, and father's day gifts. Here's just a little sneak peek at some of it:

Father's Day: not that far away...

We hear this all the time: it's hard to shop for dads and husbands. Except for sports gear and tech toys, there isn't that much on a smaller scale to buy for dad. The good old tie won't cut it (can you remember the last time you saw someone wearing a tie in Bend?). Coffee/beer gift cards are nice, but not all that original.

We've searched far and wide for some cool things for dad – they have to be useful (not gimmicky), inspiring (fishing books!), or funny. Here's a little preview pick of some of our favorite dad gifts...

Granted, you need space for this (it's about 3x5), but how cool is it for a beer lover?

more sweet somethings

Our little dog Jilly is so in love with our UPS and FedEx drivers. Sometimes they give her little treats, and she does not forget. These days, they've been at our door daily with new merchandise, and Jilly is beside herself with happiness. It's a pretty funny little scene with our lovesick puppy.

Anyway, we have lots of new goodies for her (and us) to be happy about. I took a few photos today, but forgot about a few things, too (age-related ADD?), like my new favorite: Orange Blossom body lotion and wash from Savannah Bee. It smells so good – citrusy but not too much, a little back note of honey, and just delicious. I also can't get enough of the new Vetiver by Elizabeth W (out of San Francisco). You'll just have to come in and try them.

A few new arrivals, in random order:

Lovely insulated totes, wine carriers and picnic sets.

Picnic or farmer's market? Both!

Two-bottle carrier and ingenious pie/cake/casserole tote (round)

"Tongue & Groovy" tables from a local artisan; from reclaimed flooring

Lots of new canvas totes (the perfect beach bag)

Very sweet tear-off paper placemats...

... with matching coasters

New summery placemats and napkins

These are just too cool: canvas flasks and water/wine totes

Beautiful French diffusers with natural flower tops, in lavender or peony

Sweet somethings for mom

We love it when a little one comes to our shop and finds something for mom – whether it's a $1.50 guest soap wrapped in a sweet little cellophane bag... or something a bit more substantial.  This year, we have so many perfect things for Mother's Day gifts, at all price points. I think we can pretty much guarantee that you'll find something she'll love, from wonderful, escapist design books, gorgeous french soaps and lotions, scarves, honey, totes and planters... to great little metal letters and sweet office goodies (sticky notes, bookmarks, etc.). We're full up with cards, too. Here are just a few of our ideas for mom (or yourself!), in random sequence.
