Summer entertaining: yay for melamine!

We love eating al fresco, and melamine is a great way to have stacks of inexpensive (and relatively unbreakable*) dishes for everyone. Unfortunately, most of it is pretty ugly. Fortunately, the line we found (from Canada) is full of high style and fun, with its birchy, faux-bois look and coordinating mix and match plates, trays, servers and placemats. We've been looking for something like this for a long time, and are finally happy. Prices start at $3.50 for the tapas/dessert/cocktail hour plates.

Yay for summer!

*they are breakable if the kids use them as frisbees after dinner
